Please join PHS in wishing a warm congratulations to our newest Commercial Pilot License (CPL) graduate Michael Troiano!
In keeping with our interview series, PHS sat down with Michael to understand his journey towards obtaining his CPL.
What was the most memorable part of the flight training course?
Michael: My most memorable part of the course would be my first navigation lesson out to Leongatha and beyond.
Why did you choose PHS?
Michael: I chose PHS because they have been around for a long time and they are big on safety.
Which machines did you fly during training?
Michael: I did all of my training in the R22
Did you volunteer at any company events and if so which one was your favourite?
Michael: I volunteered at every PHS event during my training and my favourite was the Avalon Air Show.
Where do you hope your newly found commercial license takes you?
Michael: With my licence I hope to work as a commercial pilot.
Have you always been interested in aviation or is this a newfound interest?
Michael: I had little interest in aviation before going on my first joy flight in a helicopter. From that point I knew flying is what I wanted to do.
What is the biggest challenge you faced during your training?
Michael: The biggest challenge was finding the time to fly around work hours.
Any advice for people who want to pursue a helicopter pilot license?
Michael: To anyone wanting to get their licence, I say there’s not better time than the present!
Thank you for your time Michael and best of luck in your career as a Commercial Helicopter Pilot!
